Carborundum was formed during a failed attempt to create laboratory diamonds. It’s iridescent, rainbow covered spikes are like something from a gothic fairy tale. The crystals' rainbow-like lustre is caused by the thin-film intrusion of a silicon dioxide passivation layer that forms on the surface. Carborundum may help to eliminate feelings of depression, anger, melancholy and relieves stress.
Please note that although Carborundum is an extremely hard and sharp crystal it is not uncommon for it to shed small crystals simply by being held. We take great care in packaging these pieces. You WILL find small crystals that may have come ajar during transit and while unpacking.
